FAQs

What material is used in the artwork?

Fusible glass looks just like stained glass but has slightly different chemical properties that allow it to be fused or melted together without the colors running into each other. The cut pieces fuse together in such a way as to allow unique patterns to be designed without any lead holding the pieces together. I use Oceanside fusible glass.

Can I get the colors I want?

Most colors are available today in fusible glass including a number of unique color patterns. Not all colors imaginable are available in fusible glass. There are many choices but please be aware that there are some limitations. Click https://oceansidecompatible.com/collections/fusible to see all of the colors available in the Oceanside collection.

Can I choose the pattern or design I want?

You can choose from hundreds of quilt patterns or abstract designs. Quilt block designs are patterns that look fantastic as fused glass platters. There are many books available that display hundreds of quilt block patterns that would translate nicely to a platter. Please keep in mind that not all quilt patterns will be easy to cut into glass pieces and not all quilt patterns will look their best in glass. That is why it is best to be able to discuss the options either in person or on the phone. Geometric designs are the best. Flowers and circles do not work well. Abstract patterns work nicely and have a very modern look. Browse through the tabs on the main menu to see both quilt patterns and abstract designs.

What is your return policy?

I will gladly refund or replace any incorrect or defective artwork within 30 days.

How do you ship the artwork?

United States Postal Service or United Parcel Service shipping direct to your home.

How much is shipping?

Standard ground shipping rates will apply. I will also insure the artwork. The shipping costs will be added to the cost of the platter. Most areas of the United States cost approximately $20.

What forms of payment do you accept?

You can pay by check, money order, cash, credit card, and Pay Pal. Because of the personal nature of the artwork, I do not offer a shopping cart on the website. I believe that to meet your satisfaction, we must communicate in person or on the phone.

How long will it take to complete my platter?

Each piece is handmade to your specifications. Once we agree to the colors and pattern, I will purchase the glass in the colors you have selected, transfer the pattern to graph paper, hand cut each piece, and fuse the artwork twice. Each piece will take an average of one month to complete after we have finalized the order. You will be notified when the artwork is complete before it is shipped.

Can I hang the platter on the wall?

You can hang the artwork by using a plate hanging system found in most hobby stores. A 12 in x 12 in platter will weigh approximately three pounds.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Please contact me immediately if you have a change or need to cancel your order. Once shipped, the order cannot be refunded unless there is a defect in the product. See return policy above.
